Poon Hill – A story by Dero, Nepal

In the early morning light, we leave the road before sunrise. Me and three friends. Our plan is to go to Poon Hill. We also have to go to Nayapur first to go here. Nayapur cars are far from us. So we used city buses. I have never watched the sunrise in Kathmandu. I suddenly realized the sunshine when I was going by bus. It looked so beautiful. And our journey began with the birth of the sun. Because we are going to do tereking more nice things are waiting for us.

At 7.30 am we started our journey with an excited and confused smile. Our journey lasted 12 hours. I do not like bus trips in general. But the bus journeys here have been a part of the cult. The buses, the goods on the buses, the colors on the buses and the ones living in the bus… They are all unique here. Everything is very subjective. If you come to Nepal, I think you should take a bus trip.

We went trembling 12 hours in the bus. Because the bus is old. But thanks to these buses, trekking began early. J It was a nice experience for the preparation. You fly there from there. You need to be balanced to drink water. Or the right timing is required for any movement. I think we need to look beyond what’s happened. Come on, it’s time to measure your balance, your patience and your intelligence on Napal buses. J

Luckily there was a lot that made me happy. There was a beautiful view. We were going to real Nepal. I was feeling and I was hoping. I was dreaming too. Nature, nature, natüre… The glorious nature has begun to show itself slowly. Then it suddenly accelerated. Everything was a beauty I could not describe. Too many mountains left behind. Maybe I saw hundreds of tons of green when I went to the car. For four days I would feel it all touching. Charming…

The road continued strangely with rich nature, songs in Nepalese buses and buses. It was strange that everything was in harmony. Those songs and roads, children running around the roads, women… They were all very good together. It was Nepal. It was unique here. You understand when you live here. Speaking of songs ; There is 1 big screen TV in the bus. There must be a loud voice on TV. Apart from music, there is also cinema enjoyment. Everyone is watching a movie on a single TV. Emotional reactions are all given together. So there’s a happy table. I do not understand, but the films I tried to understand were very enjoyable. J

It’s over 12 hours. We were the first stop.Nayapur… The real trekking adventure has begun. There was a 4-hour walk away. Target Tika Tunga. It was not so easy to reach Poon Hill.

I did not know what was waiting for me. Just as I imagined. But as I walked, I lived beyond what I imagined. Everything is very natural and very real. Besides, people lived here. People live in nature, naturally. It had an effect on the beauty of integrity as well.

It was difficult. You are always going upstairs. We were near the mountains we saw on the map in geography lessons. You’re in high mountains. We walked here. And walk closer to the Himalayas in Nepal. Trekking becomes magical as you feel them. The pieces are integrated. I left myself there and stepped.

“ I feel very emotional, I like to cry.” I started to say these sentences when trekking began. Sometimes I really felt like that. Sometimes I set up these cues for joking. The truth is that, as they approached the mountains, My cues kept their reality. I was happy. I was emotional. How many times do humans live this mysterious country. In these places, the places where I could easily spread my love and energy. Places I can pray around. With the sound of water running through the river. Along with the bird sounds.

The first night we stayed at Tika Tunga. We were very tired. The heavy weight of our bags made it a little difficult to trek. The bag was also a great experience for us. J When we arrive Tika Tunga, the weather was already dark. We walked in the dark for a while. We walked in huge mountains in the dark. Stars on your head. The people we love in our heart. Living these feelings together is not easy. If you live together, these feelings are like freedom.

It was morning. There were 2000 stairs we needed to cross for Poon Hill. It’s not just that. It’s getting harder as we go on. It rained. İt was too hot. The difficulties that occur in practice. Remedy is possible. The people who live here have made me very strong already. Or plant species that multiply when walking. The ladybugs I’ve seen walking. They made me forget my tiredness. I’ve never seen a ladybugs in this together. In my neck, in my bag. I saw them everywhere I look. There are many reasons to renew our energy. Nepal is a refreshing place in itself. The streets of the city make you feel this. Also consider trekking roads. Nature is already curative. The nature of Nepal has made it alive to me.

Nature makes us feel it. More or less. But here’s something I’m impressed with. People living in nature. They use very little electricity. Most of the time there is no electricity. No car. There is no car road anyway. In general, the roads were made by people over time. From stones or tree roots. Usually from the stones. For the first time I saw a stone kind here. The people living here used it even on the roofs of houses. This stone looks very beautiful on the sun.

Strong people who give labor. The Himalayas are full of these people. Trekking routes. But people live here. They go to certain spots with baskets on their backs to get their needs. The nearest point is a minimum of 3 hours. Also You feel the smell of incense even at two thousand meters. J

Each step was a new experience. Every step is a new world. Thank you for the energy that presented me the beauty of Nepal.

I continue to live with nature and people here….
